Kunstbanken Center for Contemporary Art is a foundation established in 1996, which aims to promote contemporary art through changing exhibitions of both Norwegian and international art. The center is located in a converted building that previously housed Norges Bank, built in 1901. Kunstbanken offers a varied program that includes exhibition openings, panel discussions and creative workshops, with a particular focus on engaging children and young people in its dissemination work.
The center also offers traveling exhibitions, which show art from different places, and collaborates with local actors in Hedmark. Kunstbanken organizes the Performance Festival and the Art Festival, which alternate every other year, and also acts as an advisor in art projects in public spaces. The center is continuously working to analyze and improve the user experience on its website, to ensure that the audience receives relevant and customized content.
