The main task of the Directorate for Financial Management (DFØ) is to contribute to effective and targeted financial management in the public sector. This includes the development of guidelines and tools to support state-owned enterprises in their financial management. DFØ works to ensure a holistic approach to financial management, and also offers training and guidance to employees in public agencies.
As part of the Norwegian administrative system, DFØ is responsible for developing and implementing standards for financial reporting and control. The Directorate plays an important role in promoting transparency and accountability in the use of public funds. Through its work, DFØ contributes to strengthening trust in public administration and ensuring that resources are used in a responsible manner.
