Innlandet County Council was established on 1 January 2020 through the merger of the former counties of Hedmark and Oppland. The county council is tasked with providing services in several areas, including politics, industry, transport and culture. It functions as an important player in the region and is involved in current issues and events.
The county council is also responsible for organizing the Nature and Climate Conference in 2025, which aims to promote sustainable solutions and awareness of environmental issues. In addition, Innlandet County Council has initiated the art project Tankeplass, which focuses on contemporary art and cultural heritage. It also serves as a platform for the county council's budget seminar, where political decisions and priorities are discussed.
