Akupunkturen AS is a clinic offering acupuncture services, run by Anna-Lena Petersson. She is a trained acupuncturist at the Norwegian School of Acupuncture, now known as the Norwegian School of Acupuncture, and has been active in the industry since 1994. She also has a background as a physiotherapist, having trained at the Skodsborg School of Physiotherapy in Denmark in 1983. Since its inception in November 2002, the clinic has focused on providing high-quality healthcare.
Acupuncture is not regulated in Norway, but qualified acupuncturists can be found through the Acupuncture Association. Research has shown that acupuncture can be helpful for older people with chronic low back pain, and there has been an increase in the number of quality studies documenting the effects of the treatment. The association has also implemented EXSTORE®, a system that has contributed to improving clinical practice, which is an important development in acupuncture globally.
