Stellaris DansTeater is based in Hammerfest and is known as Norway's oldest active stage group in dance. The company was established in 1980 and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2020. As the world's northernmost dance company, Stellaris has a high level of activity, with between 2 and 5 stage productions each year.
The theatre focuses on cultural cooperation both in the Barents region and on an international level. In addition to traditional dance performances, they work with site-specific experiences and short film productions, which provides a varied artistic platform. Stellaris DansTeater involves different artists and groups in its projects, which contributes to a diverse and dynamic artistic environment.
