Fuglenes Fyrlykta is located on Fuglenesodden in Hammerfest and has a significant historical role related to the sailing conditions in the area. The building, which is constructed as a family lighthouse with a log lighthouse, has been an important part of the maritime infrastructure. The lighthouse has previously been manned by three lighthouse keepers, and the light was re-lit in 2014 after a long period of inactivity.
The site also has a cultural heritage closely linked to the pomor trade and Arctic fishing, which gives visitors insight into the maritime history of the region. In addition to its historical significance, Fuglenes Fyrlykta offers digital exhibitions about lighthouse stations in Finnmark, which gives a modern twist to the traditional lighthouse story. The unique architecture, which includes a boathouse and pier, as well as the beautiful view of the sea, makes this an interesting attraction for both locals and tourists.
