Glimmevannet Hytta is located in scenic surroundings and is a tourist attraction in Hammerfest. The hut is accessible after a moderately demanding hike of 5.4 kilometers one way, which takes about 3-4 hours round trip. Along the route there are several great fishing lakes, which may be of interest to fishing enthusiasts.
Built by Hammerfest Municipality and inaugurated in 2014, the hut offers good facilities for visitors. There is ample seating and an oven, as well as opportunities for cooking. It is important that visitors take their trash home and leave the hut in the same condition as when they arrived, in order to preserve the place for future guests.
