The Struve Geodetic Arc in Hammerfest is a historical landmark that represents a significant scientific project. Initiated by Friedrich Georg Wilhelm von Struve between 1816 and 1855, the project aimed to accurately measure the size and shape of the Earth. The Struve Arc includes 34 measuring points, four of which are located in Norway, and is recognized as part of the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The World Heritage Center in Hammerfest communicates the history and scientific significance of the Struve Arc. The center offers digital experiences of the 25 Norwegian measuring points in 360 degrees, which gives visitors an interactive way to learn about the significance of the project. In addition, they have developed special communication programs aimed at schools and kindergartens, which help to raise awareness of this international collaboration.
