Harstad Hiking Association is a non-profit organization that owns and operates eight cabin farms, and has approximately 2,100 members from several municipalities. The organization facilitates active outdoor life by organizing trips and activities, as well as offering courses and education. It has a special focus on children, youth and seniors, and provides opportunities for volunteer involvement.
For its members, the association offers recommended trips and tips for hiking food, as well as membership benefits in the Norwegian Tourist Association. Harstad Hiking Association also works with exploration of Hinnøya and Sør-Troms, and offers rental of cabins under the auspices of DNT for overnight stays. Through their work, they contribute to promoting outdoor life and nature experiences in the region.
