Espira Skåredalen is a kindergarten that offers small departments to create safety and closeness among the children. The kindergarten focuses on play and learning in a friendly atmosphere, and emphasizes language, movement and science. As part of Haugesund Municipality's science initiative, they work with the environment and sustainable development, and have arranged several resources for this purpose.
The kindergarten has its own research lab, greenhouse, wind turbine, weather station and solar panel, all of which are used in the educational content. In addition, a packed lunch-free everyday life is offered with a focus on healthy food, where the children get direct experience with the principle "from farm to fork". Espira Skåredalen also has access to forests and rugged terrain, which provides opportunities for nature experiences and excursions. To support sustainable activities, they have two electric taxi bikes. The gym is available twice a week, and the kindergarten has good bus connections for easy excursions.
