Christine Elisabeths Gravlund is one of six cemeteries in Haugesund, established in 1892. The cemetery has historical significance and is part of the city's cultural heritage. It is located in an area with several other cemeteries, including Vår Frelsers Gravlund, which is the largest and was established in 1911, and Røvær Gravlund, which was established in 1901 after a major shipwreck.
In addition to Christine Elisabeths Gravlund, there are Nordre Hauge Gravlund, established in 1876, and Søndre Hauge Gravlund, which was established in 1963. Udland Gravlund has undergone significant expansion and now covers an area of almost 40 acres, with space for 2,637 new graves and 526 new urn graves. The cemeteries in Haugesund also offer a memorial garden with capacity for those who wish to have an alternative burial site.
