Haugaland Videregående skole is located in Haugesund and offers upper secondary education with a focus on both academic and social development. The school places emphasis on creating a good environment for both students and staff, and has therefore implemented various measures to promote community and cooperation. Among other things, it organizes environmental-building activities for the classes and the whole school, as well as action runs to raise money for solidarity projects such as "Aktion Sør-Afrika".
To support an active lifestyle, students are encouraged to walk or cycle to school. The school has also introduced a laptop requirement for all students, and offers discounted PC/Mac to new Vg1 students. There are limited parking spaces available, and parking passes are required to park on the school grounds.
