Beep & Dig - Haugalandet Metallsøkerklubb is a sports club based in Haugesund. The club focuses on metal detecting and offers members the opportunity to explore medieval locations with exciting finds. Activities include club trips to historical sites, where members can make discoveries from the Viking Age up to the 18th century. The club has also registered its first Bronze Age find, as well as a number of unique finds from the Viking Age, including a Roman gold ring with a rhython motif.
The club is active all year round, and winter metal detecting is part of the offer. Beep & Dig - Haugalandet Metallsøkerklubb emphasizes responsible metal detecting, and offers a discovery form and guidelines for landowners. Members have also participated in NRK TV programs about metal detecting, which has helped to increase interest in this activity.
