Norwegian People's Aid Haugaland Volunteer Centre is part of the Norwegian Labour Movement's humanitarian solidarity organisation. The organisation has volunteers who work both nationally and internationally, with activities in approximately 35 countries. It aims to contribute to humanitarian cooperation and development, as well as to provide first aid and rescue services.
An important part of Norwegian People's Aid's work is the focus on mine clearance and disarmament, where they work to protect civilians from explosive remnants of war. The organisation is also a democratic member organisation with local branches throughout Norway, which engages in socio-political work, especially through Solidarity Youth, which targets young people. In addition, they offer courses and resources for members and elected representatives to strengthen their competence and commitment.
