The Solhellinga Kindergarten opened in the fall of 2007 and has four departments. The kindergarten is located in rural surroundings that provide varied hiking opportunities, and there is a close collaboration with Hovin School. In the winter months, ski trails and a toboggan run are offered, which gives children the opportunity to be active outdoors. The outdoor area also includes a separate forest with an obstacle course, which contributes to physical activity and play.
The kindergarten has specialized rooms such as a math room, language room, heart room and creativity room, where children can explore and learn in different contexts. The emphasis is on food and mealtime joy, with healthy and homemade food. The children actively participate in processes in the kitchen, which promotes both learning and mastery. The Solhellinga Kindergarten aims for every child to be seen, heard and cared for, and the educational concept is built around playful learning and interaction.
