LHL, the National Association for Heart, Lung and Stroke, is a voluntary and democratic interest organization with over 54,000 members divided into local chapters and interest groups. The organization was established in 1943 and aims to improve the quality of life for people suffering from heart and lung diseases, stroke and aphasia, as well as their relatives.
LHL offers a range of services, including advice and support for relatives. They arrange training and activities to promote better health, as well as provide dietary advice and recipes. The organization has also developed resources such as films, webinars and podcasts to increase knowledge about relevant health problems. In addition, LHL engages in public education and political advocacy to advance the interests of its members.
