The learning workshop Søm Solkollen kindergarten has four departments that emphasize play and learning. The kindergarten has a large and beautiful outdoor area that is sheltered behind the building, as well as proximity to forests and hiking areas that provide opportunities for outdoor activities. In addition, the kindergarten has a large gymnasium that is used daily, as well as a water play room and a craft room that facilitates creative expression.
The kindergarten offers homemade food made from scratch with a focus on healthy ingredients. The learning workshop Solkollen is operated with an extended purpose statement that includes the dissemination of Christian values. This is done through everyday situations and pedagogically designed activities, where Bible stories are linked to the children's everyday lives to make them relevant and recognizable. The premises are adapted to facilitate smaller groups, which can promote a good learning environment.
