Gumpen Gruppen originated in Kristiansand, where the first car dealership was established in 1936. Since then, the group has grown significantly and today has over 450 employees spread across several departments in Lyngdal, Mandal, Kristiansand, Grenland and Notodden. Gumpen Gruppen is known as a brand dealer for several car brands, including Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, Seres, Nissan, MG and Subaru, and annually sells over 7,000 cars, both new and used. In addition to car sales, Gumpen Gruppen offers a number of services such as tire sales, wheel changes and tire hotels. They also offer car washing and polishing, which contribute to the car's maintenance. For cars older than five years, they offer service, and they specialize in Subaru, with a selection of new models available in Norway. Gumpen Gruppen also has a motorcycle shop in Lyngdal, which expands their offering to motorcycle enthusiasts.
