Barnas Øy is a non-profit organization that organizes summer camps for children and young people aged 5 to 16. The camps take place on Bragdøya, an island outside Kristiansand, and aim to provide participants with practical learning about the ocean and coastal landscape. The program focuses on outdoor activities and understanding nature, and it is organized for different age groups, which provides opportunities for socializing and friendship among the participants.
The organization organizes more than 350 children and young people each year, and has committed and experienced instructors who lead the activities. In addition to the summer camps, Barnas Øy offers courses and activities for adults and groups, with a focus on experiences in the archipelago. This includes outdoor cooking courses with a focus on local resources, as well as activities such as crabbing, snorkeling, sailing and rowing.
