Statue of Henrik Wergeland is a portrait statue of the Norwegian poet, who lived from 1808 to 1845. The statue is located at Eidsvolls plass in Oslo and was made by the artist Brynjulf Bergslien. It was unveiled in 1877 by Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, another prominent figure in Norwegian literature.
Wergeland is depicted in a suit with a cape, and he holds a small book in his left hand and a pen in his right. The statue stands on a high granite pedestal, and the composition shows that the weight rests on the right leg, while the left foot is stretched forward. The face is turned upwards, which gives an expressive impression.
