Kristiansand Museum is an open-air museum located at Kongsgård and houses nearly 40 different buildings. These include older wooden buildings that were saved from renovation and moved from Kvadraturen in Kristiansand, as well as two farmyards from Setesdal and Eiken in Vest-Agder. One of the most notable buildings is Nomelandsloftet, which dates back to 1585. The museum offers visitors the opportunity to experience traditional crafts and explore a varied cultural history exhibition.
The area around the museum is designed to provide an authentic atmosphere from the past, with two courtyards of historical importance. In addition to the historical buildings, the public can visit an old schoolroom from the late 19th century and Tonstadbua, which is decorated with painted biblical motifs and rose vines inside. The museum's "Miniby" shows blocks of miniature houses from old Kristiansand, and current exhibitions are presented in the main building.
