The Agder Correctional Service's probation office in Kristiansand is part of the Norwegian Correctional Service and has as its main task the care of persons subject to probation. The office offers a number of services aimed at rehabilitation and restorative processes. This includes program activities that focus on supporting individuals in their rehabilitation, as well as health services that are available to those who need it.
In addition to rehabilitation services, the office also offers substance abuse control and has substance abuse units to help people with substance abuse problems. There are opportunities for leave, and the office provides support upon parole to facilitate the transition back to society. To ensure good communication between the employees and the users, the office arranges for visits, letters and telephone calls.
