The Bondeungdomslaget (BUL) in Kristiansand is a liberal youth club established in 1911, as part of the Norwegian Youth League. The club aims to promote cultural activities and offers a varied program for its members. Among the activities are dance and music evenings, as well as courses in folk dance, known as leikskeid. This gives participants the opportunity to learn traditional dances and participate in social gatherings.
In addition to dance and music, BUL has a singing group and offers music lessons for those interested. The club also has specialized activities such as bunad making, which gives members the opportunity to learn about and make traditional Norwegian costumes. Fridansfredda is an informal dance evening where participants can dance to music of their choice, and soft drinks, potato chips, dips and hummus are served during the events. This contributes to a social and inclusive atmosphere for youth in Kristiansand.
