Mid-Agder Friluftsråd is an organization that works with intermunicipal cooperation between several municipalities in Agder. The organization aims to promote outdoor life and nature experiences in the region. They offer a number of services, including a free outdoor bus for school classes, which gives students the opportunity to experience nature up close. Vaffelbua at Kyrtjønn functions as a Sunday café, where visitors can enjoy waffles in scenic surroundings.
In addition to these offers, Mid-Agder Friluftsråd arranges guided tours in connection with the Year of Outdoor Life, and they focus on nature schools as a tool for learning in nature. The organization has also developed Stikk UT!, a digital platform for registering tours, as well as outdoor parks and other activity opportunities in the region. Furthermore, they allocate hiking trail funds for the development of local hiking trails, and emphasize volunteering and community as measures against loneliness.
