The Kristiansand Rescue Society is a voluntary organization that offers free assistance from 58 lifeboats to its members, with no deductible. The organization aims to prevent drowning and ensure the safety of seafarers. With over 1,200 rescuers manning the lifeboats along the coast, they have an ambition to be a maximum of one hour away in the event of an accident.
In addition to rescue services, the Kristiansand Rescue Society focuses on emergency preparedness and safety within maritime transport. They offer information on seasonal preparations and boating etiquette, which is important for promoting safety at sea. There are also opportunities to become a volunteer, either on land or at sea, and contribute to the vital work the organization does.
