Rom - Advice and Opportunities is a voluntary organization that aims to strengthen user participation in the field of mental health and substance abuse. The organization promotes the Recovery perspective and emphasizes experiential competence, which means that they involve people with their own experiences from these areas in their work. Through low-threshold courses and dialogue meetings, they focus on community and respect, and facilitate an inclusive approach to mental health.
Rom - Advice and Opportunities also supports the development of user and family competence in health and welfare services. They collaborate with various actors to build peer services, which are services where people with similar experiences can support each other. The organization is also involved in research and projects at the University of Agder, and offers courses as peers and recovery-supporting measures to contribute to increased competence and support in the local community.
