Hasselbakken FUS kindergarten was established in 2008 and is organized over two floors. The first floor is dedicated to Nøtteliten, which welcomes children from 0 to 3 years old, while Hasselnøttene, which houses children from 3 to 6 years old, is located on the second floor. The kindergarten uses the FUS method, which emphasizes self-management in play and learning, and aims to promote children's independence and curiosity.
The kindergarten offers various activities such as outdoor groups and familiarization for new children, which contributes to a smooth transition for the youngest. Parental cooperation is a central part of the kindergarten's philosophy, and the children are divided into smaller groups to participate in adapted activities. Older children, known as Ekorna, receive specific preparations to meet new challenges in their development.
