Gilhus Farm has been in the family for six generations since 1850 and is located by the Drammensfjord. The farm has optimal growing conditions and grows vegetables on an area of 500 acres. The selection includes broccoli, Chinese cabbage and celery, all of which thrive in the silty light clay soil that was once the seabed.
In addition to traditional vegetables, Gilhus Farm has introduced colored cauliflower, broccolini and Fioretto to the Norwegian market. The farm is also known for its curiosity in the development of new vegetable varieties, which can contribute to variety and innovation in agriculture.
