Oppland Art Center, also known as Oplandia Center for Contemporary Art, was established in 1986 and functions as a regional center for contemporary art and art-related expertise in Lillehammer. The center is an independent, artist-run institution that aims to increase knowledge about contemporary art and crafts, as well as to strengthen the regional art field. Through exhibitions, communication and dialogue, the center works to highlight the role of art in society.
The center offers an online gallery and focuses on modern art forms, and organizes various exhibitions and art projects. Oppland Art Center creates an inspiring atmosphere for art enthusiasts and functions as a meeting place between artists, public and private institutions, and the public. The center is owned by Billedkunstnerne Innlandet and Norske Kunsthåndverkere Innlandet, and it is part of the national network Kunstsentrene i Norge.
