DNT Lillehammer is a voluntary organization that is part of the Norwegian Tourist Association. The organization is responsible for the operation of seven cabins in the area and the maintenance of approximately 400 km of marked trails. This work contributes to promoting outdoor activities and accessibility to nature for the general public.
In addition to cabin and trail maintenance, DNT Lillehammer arranges various trips and activities in the mountains, adapted for both children, youth and seniors. The organization also offers hiking tips and recommended routes for those who want to explore the area. A special feature of DNT Lillehammer is the wild reindeer trapping facility at Vetåbua, which is also part of their commitment to nature and wildlife. Volunteer work is a central part of the organization's operations, and contributes to community and active participation in outdoor activities.
