DNT Rana and Surroundings is a voluntary organisation affiliated with the Norwegian Tourist Association. The organisation operates eight cabin farms with a total of 13 overnight cabins, which provide opportunities for overnight stays in scenic surroundings. In addition to the cabins, DNT Rana and Surroundings facilitates several hundred kilometres of red-marked trails, making it easier for hikers to explore the area.
The organisation organises group hikes throughout the year and has a partnership with the hiking clubs in Lurøy, Nesna and Træna. DNT Rana and Surroundings emphasises promoting outdoor life and nature experiences for people of all ages, and offers activities for children, young people and seniors. There are also opportunities to volunteer and contribute to the community, which gives members a chance to get involved in local outdoor activities.
