The Helgeland Savings Bank Foundation was established by Helgeland Sparebank on 21 December 2010. The foundation's purpose is to manage the equity certificates that were added upon establishment, as well as to exercise long-term and stable ownership in Helgeland Sparebank. It aims to continue savings bank traditions and ensure a well-rooted regional savings bank offering in the Helgeland region.
The foundation distributes funds every quarter to projects in Helgeland, with nearly 40 million kroner available annually. It supports public benefit purposes, but does not contribute to public core tasks or ordinary operations. Applications can be submitted throughout the year, but there are specific deadlines for assessment. To help projects assess whether they can apply for support, the foundation offers a quiz.
