LO - Regional Office Møre og Romsdal is tasked with running trade union activities for the National Confederation of Norwegian Trade Unions. The office coordinates the trade union movement's efforts in the region and organizes workers from both the private and public sectors. A significant proportion of the members, 50 percent, are women, which reflects a focus on gender equality in the workplace.
In addition to organizing workers, the office coordinates activities for various unions and local organizations. It puts members' issues on the political agenda and recruits new members to LO's trade union. Advising elected officials on work-related issues is also an important part of the business, along with arranging courses and conferences, including regional conferences.
