Narvik War Museum, also known as Narvik Krigsmuseum, aims to promote peace and human rights work by preserving the war history of northern Norway. The museum offers an interactive tour with exhibitions that focus on the German attack on Narvik in 1940. Through these exhibitions, visitors are encouraged to reflect on themes such as war, conflict and human rights.
In addition to the exhibitions, the museum promotes dialogue, democracy and inclusion, and works both locally, nationally and internationally. There is an emphasis on youth engagement, and the museum arranges activities and exhibitions related to war history. It also offers teaching and research opportunities, as well as information signs in protected areas to raise awareness of historical events.
