Narvik fire station is part of Ofoten fire and rescue service, which has been organized as an intermunicipal company since 2008. This cooperation involves the municipalities of Narvik and Gratangen, and aims to ensure fire and rescue services in the area. The fire station has a fire prevention department that works on measures to reduce fire risk and inform residents about fire safety.
In addition to fire prevention, Narvik fire station has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Armed Forces. The station also offers information about unnecessary calls, registration of bonfires and reporting of overnight stays. They also arrange courses in fire protection to increase awareness and knowledge of fire safety among residents.
