The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate - Region North is responsible for managing Norway's water and energy resources. The Directorate works with securing power supply, as well as managing flood and landslide risks. Through research and analysis in hydrology and energy systems, they contribute to a better understanding of natural phenomena and energy use.
In addition to supervising energy facilities and water resources management, the Directorate focuses on developing instruments for sustainable energy use. They carry out studies and mapping of natural hazards, and collaborate with municipalities to implement security measures. The Directorate also publishes analyses on the power market and has a particular focus on emergency preparedness and monitoring of natural hazards.
