Soria Moria kindergarten is located in Narvik and is part of a network of six kindergartens distributed on the campuses in Tromsø, Narvik and Alta. The kindergarten is specially designed for students with children who pay semester fees to UiT The Arctic University of Norway, but also offers places to other applicants. With a capacity of 72 children divided into five departments, Soria Moria focuses on community, play and exploration on the children's terms.
The kindergarten has a close collaboration with UiT, and functions as a practice kindergarten for kindergarten teacher students. This gives the children the opportunity to benefit from a varied and stimulating learning environment. The area around the kindergarten offers a lot of untouched nature, which provides a natural playground for the children, and encourages physical activity and exploration. The kindergarten also offers activities and resources for a good start to kindergarten, as well as answers to frequently asked questions for parents. Kindergarten admissions primarily take place in March, but places are allocated throughout the year.
