👥 Who is eligible

Roof Over Your Head (ROOF) is a temporary accommodation programme in Trondheim launched by Sit and NTNU in August.

The following are eligible:

● international students,

● first-year students who did not manage to get into a hall of residence,

● students who arrived after the housing application deadline.

📌 There are usually several hundred places available in hostels, gyms or temporary rooms.

📝 How to apply

  1. Keep an eye on Sit and NTNU news in July.
  2. On the day ROOF launches (usually 1–2 days before Orientation Week), fill out the online form.
  3. Come in person to the registration point (often at the NTNU student campus).
  4. Receive temporary accommodation for a period of several days to a week.

    👉 Places are limited, so it is important to act quickly when registration opens.

● Bring a sleeping bag and pillow — sometimes only mattresses are provided.

● Keep copies of your documents handy: passport, Letter of Admission, confirmation of semesteravgift payment.

● Use your time at ROOF to look for permanent accommodation (via FINN.no, Facebook, Sit Housing).

● Socialise: many students find flatmates for kollektiv right at ROOF.
