W.B. Samson – Sandaker is one of Oslo's oldest bakeries, established in 1894. The bakery specializes in a varied selection of baked goods, including sourdough bread, cinnamon buns, school bread, cakes and Viennese goods. In addition to baked goods, they offer lunch dishes with a focus on quality ingredients, reflecting their commitment to taste and craftsmanship.
The bakery collaborates with Valdresmeiriet to produce its own cheese made from milk from local farms, and they use mountain pigs from Valdres in their products. The breads are made by hand, with a process that includes long-term rising and baking in a hot stone oven, which contributes to the characteristic taste and texture. Recently, they have also started pressing their own orange juice, which has gained recognition for its taste.
