Akersveien Kanvas Kindergarten is located in an idyllic location near Gamle Aker Kirke and Telthusbakken. The nursery has three departments that accept children aged 1-6, and has a committed and diverse staff group consisting of 13 employees. A varied outdoor area is offered, including a separate toboggan run, as well as weekly trips for all groups of children. The nursery also has a shaping room which is available to all departments, which gives the children the opportunity to explore creativity and artistic expression.
Kanvas is Norway's largest kindergarten foundation with non-profit purposes, and Akersveien Kanvas kindergarten is part of this network. The foundation's aim is to improve children's growing up conditions and parents' everyday life through quality kindergartens with a focus on play and learning environments. At Kanvas, it is a goal that at least half of the employees should have nursery teacher training, and all employees receive regular professional training. The nursery school also has practice teachers for kindergarten teacher students, which contributes to skills development and development in the sector.
