Myrer Kanvas kindergarten is a kindergarten with three departments: Jupiter, Neptun and Venus. The nursery has a stable staff with a high teacher density, consisting of six nursery teachers. Emphasis is placed on diversity in the staff group, which contributes to an inclusive environment. The nursery focuses on safety, respect, development opportunities, learning and play, with a specialization in social and emotional competence.
Relationship skills between adults and children, as well as between the children themselves, are an important part of everyday life at Myrer Kanvas kindergarten. Participation from the children is a high priority, and a loving, caring and safe environment is created. Kanvas, of which Myrer is a part, is Norway's largest kindergarten foundation with a non-profit purpose, and works to improve children's growing up conditions and parents' everyday life through quality kindergartens. At Kanvas, it is a goal that at least half of the employees have nursery teacher training, and regular professional training is offered to all employees.
