Skovheim Kanvas nursery school offers a varied offer for children aged 1-6 years, with two toddler sections for the youngest and two sections for the older children. The nursery has 16 employees with different backgrounds and education, which contributes to a diverse and inclusive environment. Emphasis is placed on presence in play and good relationships between children and adults, as well as on cooperation and reflection as part of the learning organisation.
The nursery has an active program that includes weekly trips to the local area to explore nature. In addition, the children participate in generational singing with residents from Skovheim allsenter, which promotes interaction between generations. For the pre-school group, an adapted scheme has been developed with a focus on a sense of community, which is important for the children's social development. Skovheim Kanvas Kindergarten is part of Kanvas, Norway's largest non-profit daycare foundation, which aims to improve children's growing up conditions and parents' everyday life through quality kindergartens.
