Trollstua Kanvas nursery school is a ward nursery school that offers a safe and cozy environment for children aged 10 months to 6 years. The nursery has four sections with space for approximately 50 children, and places emphasis on quiet surroundings that promote well-being and learning. There are common rooms for physical activity indoors, as well as a rich training room. The outdoor area is large and varied, which provides opportunities for play and exploration.
Kanvas, which runs Trollstua, is Norway's largest kindergarten foundation with non-profit purposes, and has 66 kindergartens in the country. The foundation focuses on improving children's upbringing and supporting parents' everyday life through quality kindergartens. In Trollstua Kanvas nursery school, it is a goal that at least 50% of the staff have nursery teacher training, and all staff receive regular professional training. The nursery offers a hot lunch four days a week and has a special birthday celebration that focuses on the birthday child. Children of employees at Oslo University Hospital and from the surrounding area have the option of a place in the nursery.
