Architect firm Helen & Hard AS was founded in Stavanger in 1996 and today has offices in both Stavanger and Oslo. The firm consists of a collective of 26 people with different cultural backgrounds, which contributes to a diverse perspective in their work. They focus on creating new spaces with a poetic and systemic approach, where they combine natural and technological insight.
The company is engaged in both material and social dedication, and works to develop welcoming, generous and sustainable environments. Helen & Hard also participates in international architecture exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale. Among their well-known projects is Vennesla Library and Finansparken, as well as a number of other projects ranging from private homes to large, mixed business projects and public cultural buildings. They investigate how housing can improve health and quality of life, and adapt their solutions to the unique conditions of each project.
