Lions Dogs School and Mobility Center for Visually Impaired is Norway's first guide dog school, established in 1966. The school aims to train dogs to give the visually impaired increased mobility and independence. Each year they train between 12 and 15 dogs, and have a team of four instructors with specialized expertise in the area.
In addition to dog training, the school offers the opportunity for individuals to become guide dog parents, which involves caring for and training the dogs before they are assigned to visually impaired users. Lions Dogs School also engages in community work and works to raise awareness of guide dogs. The school emphasizes an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for both dogs and owners, which contributes to a positive learning environment.
