Småkraftforeninga is an interest organization that works for small power plants in Norway. The organisation's aim is to promote sustainable development and clean energy through various measures and resources for its members. With over 1,500 power plants in operation and 7,000 landowners involved, the association plays an important role in the development of the small power sector in the country.
The association arranges, among other things, Small Power Days and industry conferences, which give members the opportunity to share experiences and knowledge. In addition, they offer a podcast called "Kraftpraten", where industry experts discuss current topics in small power. 17 small power plants have also been registered as cultural monuments, which underlines the cultural value of this energy source. It is estimated that there is an untapped potential of 8 TWh within Norwegian small power, which can contribute to a more sustainable energy future.
