Folketrygdfondet is an asset management organization established in 1967, with responsibility for the management of the Government Pension Fund Norway and the Government Bond Fund on behalf of the Ministry of Finance. The organization aims to achieve active, responsible and long-term ownership, with a focus on investments in the Nordic countries. Since 2015, Folketrygdfondet has achieved an excess return of 85 basis points annually, and the annual return has been 7.53 per cent over the past ten years.
The fund has passed NOK 400 billion in market value and plans to carry out an annual withdrawal of 3 percent of the capital from 2025. In addition, Folketrygdfondet offers summer student opportunities for students who want experience in the financial sector.
