Norsk Naturskadepool is an insurance agent that specializes in compensation schemes for natural damage. The organization handles damage caused by various natural disasters, including landslides, storms, floods and storm surges. After the extreme weather Amy, they have registered around 8,000 natural damages, and it is expected that up to half of the compensation in 2024 will be linked to the storm Ingunn.
Norsk Naturskadepool also focuses on education and skills development, and has developed digital courses and training for claims handlers. In addition, new natural damage insurance regulations will come into force on 1 January 2025, which may affect how natural damage is handled in the future. Members of Norsk Natural Damage Pool include all insurance companies that offer fire insurance in Norway, which provides broad cooperation within the industry.
