LEFO - The Medical Research Institute is an independent research institute that focuses on doctors' health, quality of life and behaviour. The institute investigates how societal and organizational conditions affect the practice of the profession, as well as attitudes, ethics and priorities in the medical profession. The research also includes studies of changes in the doctor's role and addresses important topics such as job satisfaction, depression and suicide among doctors in Norway.
The institute has a team of researchers with expertise in medicine, epidemiology and social science, and participates in extensive research collaboration both nationally and internationally. LEFO emphasizes research dissemination and organizes seminars and research conferences, as well as participates in relevant conferences at home and abroad to share its findings and contribute to debate within the field.
