The Norwegian Institute for International Affairs, known as NUPI, is an independent research institute that was established by the Norwegian Parliament in 1959. The institute's main focus is on international developments, with particular emphasis on Norwegian foreign policy and foreign economics. NUPI conducts research in several areas, including defence, security, global economy and diplomacy.
